Oldham's local newspaper 'The Oldham Evening Chronicle' with the support of a number of local companies recently run a campaign called 'The Pride in Oldham Awards'.
The members of Radio Cavell reached the 'finalist' status in this years awards in recognition of the vast amount of good work that the volunteers do in the local community.
Following several months of nominations from readers of the Chronicle, a special award ceremony was held at the Menzies Avant Hotel on Friday with more than 120 guests including the 12 finalists shortlisted from more than 100 nominations.
Several members of the Radio Cavell Team attended the award ceremony where they were presented with a framed memento - a front-page Oldham Chronicle story praising their individual achievements. This can currently be seen on display in the main entrance of the Royal Oldham Hospital.
